One of the first sounds that can be heard is that of a pizza box filled with junk which I rattled around using a cleaning brush.

Character Design Session - 23/01/2019

In today's session we were tasked with drawing the anatomy of various animals. I was given a gorilla. We then were given the task of creating a chimera creature, a few fusion of two animals. I was given a frog combined with my gorilla. Our next task saw us working in groups and designing alien creatures and how they'd function in different environments. One of us had to design the prey and the other the predator. I designed the prey as shown below.

Created Instrument for my Soundscape

Image
For my Soundscape sessions, I created an instrument out of a used coca-cola box, filled with various materials and objects such as rocks, twigs and baking paper. I decided to use the instrument for the second image given in my soundscapes blue box.  Due to the organic nature and its appearance which was reminiscent of a cocoon to me. I often rattled and shook the box to simulate what a an egg or cocoon would sound like moving and rattling, perhaps even pulsing. I would shake the box at different speeds and tap different sides to generate varied sounds.  This is the instrument I constructed.  The cardboard handle attached on top of the box was used to scratch the sellotape surface on that side to make sounds mimicking crackling and rattling.

Character Design Session - 16th January 2019

For this task I given the character of a wild west sheriff. I imagined him as corrupt individual having been bribed the criminals he was supposed to bring justice to. There was an emphasis on triangles to suggest his more crooked ways, as well as dark clothing and a ragged hat. This also extended to the design of the buildings which were crumbling and poorly kept.  Objects from a 1950's style living room.

A challenge for most of these drawings was changing position so to have a different perspective every 5 minutes.  For the drawing to the right I decided to use oil pastels and switch the colours used every 5 minutes. The time allotted was 15 minutes.

From Script to Screen Introduction and Mind maps

Image
For my From Script to Screen brief I am undertaking the tasks of producing designs for my character(s), set(s) and props. It is required that I develop these further into a animatic storyboard and a CGI pre-visualization in Autodesk Maya. The software that is to be used is to be utilized creatively showing great merit in producing quality work and a developed, imaginative world. I have been given 3 components to develop my project from and in response I have created 3 mind maps to interpret them. A fourth has been made to associate all three components together. Lepidopterist Parcel Tower Block My 3 components combined and associated together.

Soundscape Introduction and Mind Maps

Image
For my soundscape project I am tasked with producing and synthesizing sound through the application of software such as Adobe Audition. The three images are abstract images that I am required to interpret and develop the possible sounds that could be produced from such forms. I have created mind maps in response to this images as what I have interpreted what they are akin to visually and what they sounds could be made from them.
